How to record number of flowers / bunches per vine / bunch weights for the Yield Predictor Tool

When out in the field, open your Sectormentor phone app, scan the tag at the sample site you’re in (or select the relevant sample site on your phone), and enter the data from that sample bay - depending on the sampling system you choose to use (find out more about sampling options here).

Adding your flower counts, bunch counts and bunch weights is necessary for making use of the Yield Predictor Tool in the 'Reports' section of your Sectormentor web app dashboard.

Your first estimate of the season is usually calculated from inflorescence counts combined with an average bunch weight from each block from previous years. Your second prediction will usually be after fruit set, where you can count your bunches and update your prediction based on these counts (this stage can help you to decide whether to green harvest). At lag phase, or veraison, you can enter in a third prediction, with actual bunch weights which will be scaled up appropriately by the predictor.
