Soil Moisture Sense Weather Station
If you follow these steps you will be able to take the raw weather data from a Soil Moisture Sense Weather Station and upload it into the Sectormentor weather station area (you will need to have already added your weather station in Settings).
You will need a spreadsheet software (e.g Excel or Google Sheets to do this), these instructions were based on doing this in Microsoft Excel.
Go to Soil Moisture Sense online where you can either download a month or a whole year, select to download whole year.
You get a spreadsheet with lots of data. You only want to keep the date column and the Temp column, delete all other columns.
Duplicate the temp column, so there are 2 identical temp columns in your spreadsheet.
Use the date and temp and put into a pivot table*.
Using the pivot table you can pull out max and min for each day - this also gets rid of the 15 min intervals. However you don’t get what you want immediately. Initially the pivot table automatically sums all the temperatures for a day - we don’t want that.
Right click on first temp field, select -> value field settings -> change it to max.
Right click on the second temp field -> value field settings -> change it to min.
Reformat the dates, to work with Sectormentor we need them to be in YYYY-MM-DD format. (Exact instructions see below)
Save this as a csv file ready to upload. Go to Sectormentor -> Settings, Select the appropriate weather station and ‘Upload Weather Data’.
*We know not everyone has used pivot tables, so have a go and if you get stuck let us know right away and we can help you with this!
